New Saturday Class

I HAVE BEEN ON A SEARCH FOR BALANCE RECENTLY. I DON'T MEAN THE KIND THAT DOESN'T MAKE YOU PHYSICALLY FALL OVE BUT THE KIND THAT CAN MAKE YOU INTERNALLY FALL OVER. I HAVE FOCUSED SO MUCH ON THE MIND AND BODY PART OF THE TRIANGLE OF BALANCE WHICH IS MIND BODY AND SPIRIT THAT I FELT MY FOUNDATION GIVE WAY.
 
 I HAVE BEEN ON A SEARCH TO HELP STRENGTHEN MY FOUNDATION AND I FEEL THAT I AM ONTO TO SOMETHING. I WANT TO SHARE WHAT I HAVE DISCOVERED WITH OTHERS. SATURDAYS AT 10:05 AM I AM GOING TO TEACH A CLASS THAT WILL BE MIND BODY AND SPIRIT FOCUSED.

Exercise and Self esteem

If you're anything like me, you've spent a lifetime wishing you looked a certain way. And everything would be better if you were just 10 pounds slimmer, or 2 sizes smaller. I was always falling off the wagon of my latest self imposed "diet", eating m&m's at 10pm at night hating myself, all the while telling myself tomorrow will different. Tomorrow I'll stick to my diet and try not to think about everything that's "wrong" with me. Sound familiar? Didn't work for me either. Here is what I know for sure. There has been only one time in my life where I have have not consistently beat myself about how I look or placed ridiculous restrictions on how or what I ate. It was when I was exercising on a regular basis. It's truly amazing how my overall outlook on life improved as I was physically getting healthy and strong. I'm not saying I was running around with a perfect body, but I may as well have because I felt great. I had confidence that I never knew was possible. Hard to believe I ever stopped. But I did. And it's probably one of the least nice things I've ever done to myself. Somehow in a rheumatoid arthritis diagnosis and divorce, I stopped the one thing that was a great source of authentic power for me. And I'm so tired of feeling this way. So I've decided I'm putting myself back in MaryBeth's able hands (the same hands that helped me before) and taking my power back. Stay tuned. :

Why it's Okay to put Yourself First

A few months ago I hit the proverbial "wall." Hard. Actually, really hard. I had been so consumed in the needs and the drama of other people's lives that I forgot I actually had a life of my own. During the hard, often times painful process of putting the pieces back together of my own life I was given a great gift. I learned that I matter. Why is it so hard for us to give the same care and consideration we show others to ourselves?

"I was looking to add to my exercise regimen to build strength over the summer and especially to tone my muscles. I work out at the gym twice a week and I do Elliptical work for my cardio but I needed to do more and I wanted variety because I am not motivated when it comes to exercising...So I started Pilates and I have tried to get at least 3 classes in a week. What a difference it is making for me! Because of my age (64) I have to do a yoga practice every day to work on my flexibility so I really love doing a Pilates class along with a Yoga class at the studio.
